Jeremy Van Sant
Jeremy spent a significant portion of his maturing years in
Bloomfield and at First Baptist Church. He is a graduate of Bloomfield High and has always enjoyed and valued the town
of Bloomfield.
Following high school, Jeremy attended Lancaster Bible College where he earned a B. S. in Biblical Studies with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry. After graduating, he was formally ordained to the pastorate by First Baptist Church.
Senior Pastor
He went on to serve as the Associate Pastor of Trinity Bible Church in Allenwood, NJ. He oversaw Trinity’s Youth, Young Adult, and Worship Ministries. While serving at Trinity, he worked through a Master of Ministry program at Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA, graduating with a M. A. in Church Leadership.
Following the completion of his seminary degree, Jeremy received a call to pastor Calvary Baptist Church in Le Roy, NY. Throughout his time at Calvary, he placed a special emphasis on discipleship and Biblical literacy; developing materials and programming to help people understand core doctrine, and empowering them to know God in a personal way. His time as Calvary's Senior Pastor was marked by significant relationships and a commitment to the spiritual growth of the congregation.
Jeremy and his wife relocated to Lancaster, PA where he would serve as a Chaplain at an Independent Retirement Home, coupled with a full care Nursing Facility. During his time at the retirement home, he was dedicated to building relationships and encouraging people spiritually. He remains grateful for the opportunity to walk with those under his care, through illnesses, losses, and life changes.
In 2020, Jeremy returned home after being called by the First Baptist Church membership to become their next pastor; he is grateful for this unique opportunity. He loves the people of First Baptist and counts it a privilege to serve them.
Jeremy has been married to his wife Rachel since 2008. They love spending time with each other and are always searching the area for new culinary experiences. They enjoy the Jersey Shore as they have many memories from their time living there. In his free time Jeremy enjoys a good movie or TV series, pickup basketball, and reading anything from Banner of Truth.
